Everything you need to know about Net Deposit Limits, Fixed Limits and Deposit Limits

What is a Net Deposit Limit?

A Net Deposit Limit is the maximum amount you can lose within a set period. It can help you keep your gambling affordable and within an amount you’re comfortable with.

Your Net Deposit Limit is based on your net deposits - the amount you deposit minus the amount you withdraw.

How does it work?

  • When you deposit, your available Net Deposit Limit goes down.

  • When you withdraw, your available Net Deposit Limit goes back up.

Example: You set a £100 Net Deposit Limit and deposit £100. If you then withdraw £30, you can deposit up to £30 again during the same period.

You can deposit again after making a withdrawal, but your net deposits can never exceed your Net Deposit Limit during the period.

If you reach your limit, you won’t be able to deposit again until your limit refreshes, unless you make a withdrawal first.

What is a Fixed Limit?

A Fixed Limit is a limit we apply to your account; it can't be increased or removed from your side. A Fixed Limit can either be a Deposit Limit or Net Deposit Limit that we've applied to your account.

You'll see Fixed Limits listed under Limits in the My Account section.

These limits help keep gambling affordable. For accounts previously registered with GamStop, a fixed monthly spending limit of £500 is applied to ensure responsible usage.

If you want to increase your Fixed Limit, you’ll need to provide proof of income. The maximum allowed limit is typically capped at 30% of your average monthly income. If your income has not changed since the last assessment, your limit will remain the same.

Accepted documents may include recent payslips, bank statements, tax returns, and evidence of savings or investments. Documents must be dated within the last 3 months. You can submit these documents to [email protected] for consideration, and the team will review your request and reach out to you with an update.

You can also set your own lower Net Deposit Limit at any time if you want extra control.

What's the difference between a Net Deposit Limit, Deposit Limit and a Fixed Limit?

Net Deposit Limit: A Net Deposit Limit is the maximum amount you can lose within a set period and helps keep gambling affordable.

Deposit Limit: A Deposit Limit caps the total amount that you can deposit during a specified timeframe, regardless of your withdrawals.

Fixed Limit: A Fixed Limit is a stricter limit applied to your account by us. It cannot be increased or removed by you and always takes priority over any limits you set yourself.

How do I set Financial Limits?

You can set a daily, weekly, or monthly Net Deposit Limit or Deposit Limit in your account.

To set a Limit:

  • Go to the Limits section in your account.

  • Decide whether you want a Deposit Limit or Net Deposit Limit

  • Choose a daily, weekly, or monthly Limit.

  • Enter the amount and confirm.

Where can I check my Financial limits?

You can see all of your limits in the Limits section of My Account.

Limits we apply appear under "Your fixed limits" and the limits you set yourself appear under "Your limits"

When does my Financial Limit reset?

Financial Limits reset on the following schedule:

  • Daily limit: Resets at midnight (or 1 am during British Summer Time).

  • Weekly limit: Resets each week, running from Monday through to Sunday.

  • Monthly limit: Resets at the start of each calendar month.

How long does it take for my Financial Limit to apply?

If you're lowering your Limit, the new limit applies immediately.

If you're requesting to increase or remove a Limit, there's a 24-hour cooling-off period before the change takes effect.

Once the new limit is ready, you'll be prompted to accept the change on your account.

What if I have both a Financial Limit and a Fixed Limit on my account?

If you have set up a Limit yourself and also have a Fixed Limit on your account, your own Financial Limit can't be higher than the Fixed Limit.

The Fixed Limit always overrides any Limit you try to set.

For example, if your account has a Fixed Net Deposit Limit of £500, you won't be able to set your own Net Deposit Limit above £500. If you try to set a higher amount (such as £1,000), the system won't allow it because the Fixed Limit is the maximum allowed.

You can still set a lower Net Deposit Limit if you want more control.

What if I have more than one Financial Limit set?

If you have multiple Limits set, the lowest available limit always applies.

This means a weekly or monthly Net deposit Limit can restrict your deposits even if your daily limit hasn’t been reached yet.

For example, if you have a daily Net Deposit Limit of £100 and a weekly Net Deposit Limit of £150, and you deposit £100 on day one, you won’t be able to deposit another £100 on day two.

That’s because the weekly Net Deposit Limit only allows £150 in total for that week, so you would only be able to deposit up to £50 more before the weekly limit is reached.
