Why did you check my credit file?
If you’re wondering why we’ve checked your credit file, it’s to confirm your identity and age.
We’re required by our licence to make sure every player is over 18 and who they say they are. Instead of asking you to send documents, we verify electronically using public records. One of those checks uses the UK Credit Header, which may appear as a soft search on your credit file.
A soft search:
Does not affect your credit score
Does not affect your ability to borrow
Has zero impact, even if you see more than one
It’s just a routine identity check, nothing more.
Can I ask you to delete my personal data?
Yes, we can delete your personal data, just not straight away. We are legally required to hold on to certain player information for at least 5 years, which is a regulatory requirement, not a choice. Once that retention period ends, your data is securely deleted.
To request the deletion of your personal data, please confirm that you want data deletion (not just account closure) and verify your identity by providing your full name, date of birth, account username or email, and the postcode associated with your account.
Certain types of data must be retained for legal and regulatory reasons, such as compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, statutory data retention requirements, and regulatory requests. This retained data is securely stored for at least 5 years before it can be deleted. If you want to understand exactly how we use and store your personal data, check out our Privacy Policy.
How do I request a copy of my data?
You can access a lot of your data from within your account such as your deposit, transaction, and withdrawal history. However, if you wish to request a copy of your data or make a Subject Access Request then you'll need to email [email protected] from the email address registered to your MrQ account. If you contact support from an email address that is not registered to your account, you will need to confirm your registered email address, full name, date of birth, and postcode.
If you are unsure which email is registered, you can find this information in the Profile section under My Account.
We’ll respond to your request within one month. If your request is complex and may take longer, we’ll let you know as soon as possible.
If you’d like more details on how subject access requests work, you can read the ICO guide here.
And if you just want to understand how we use your personal information day to day, our Privacy Policy has the full picture.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes, your personal information is safe. We use encryption and secure servers to protect the data you share. Only authorised teams can access it.
In some cases, we share limited personal information with trusted third parties, such as identity or age verification providers. That’s to meet our licence obligations. Your data is still handled securely at every step.
If you want the full detail on how we use and protect your personal information, you can read our Privacy Policy.
